Nicolas Jackson has responded to Christopher Nkunku's goal for France in emphatic fashion. The attacking duo appear to be competing for the lone striker spot at Chelsea with Jackson currently preferred by Enzo Maresca, though that could change soon.

During the October international break, Nkunku was handed a start on the left for his country's Nations League clash against Israel. Though he was deployed out wide,

As a result of his latest strike, Nkunku has now bagged eight goals this season and is Chelsea's top scorer despite only featuring for 430 minutes. His first competitive goal for France is further proof of his quality with Maresca now facing a major decision for the upcoming clash against Liverpool and beyond.

However, just 24 hours later, Jackson responded with a goal of his own for Senegal in an AFCON qualifier against Malawi. Similarly to Nkunku, the 23-year-old picked up the ball just outside the box and weaved his way past several challenges before placing an effort into the far corner.

After scoring an excellent brace against West Ham, Jackson has failed to find the back of the net in the following two Premier League games. Though that is hardly a goal drought, with Nkunku waiting in the wings, Jackson will want to ensure he is consistently contributing in the attacking third.

Nkunku is yet to start a Premier League game as the central striker but that could yet change with . European ties with Greek side Panathinaikos and Armenian outfit FC Noah are on the horizon as well.
