Man stunned after spending £100 on McDonald's to see how much he'd win in Monopoly

It's the time of year every Maccies fan looks forward to - the return of . When the promotion runs, fast food fans can buy certain items that have stickers on them - which people can collect to win jaw-dropping prizes.

From free food items to £100k cash, there's plenty of exciting things to win. One man decided he'd try his luck by spending a whopping £100 on McDonald's to see what winnings he could nab - and he was very pleased with the results. Josh Ryan sat down with his girlfriend Megan McLoughlin, 23, to open up all the items he had purchased one by one, revealing whether he had won anything. Josh spent £100 spread over two orders, but quickly realised he had spent £6 on a Big Mac - which isn't even part of the Monopoly promotion.

However, just a few seconds into the first video, where Josh spent £50, he became very excited - because they were well on their way towards collecting all the yellow properties. If you're lucky enough to collect a full colour set you can win a big prize, such as an electric car, a holiday or £100,000. After peeling off the first two items, Josh said: "We only need one more yellow already."

However, after spending a whopping £50 on their first order, Josh and Megan were left disappointed. Excited about the prospect of winning a TV, their dream didn't become a reality. All they won was a Quarter Pounder with Cheese. Josh explained he had also done the Double Peel, which gives Maccies fans another go on the website - but he didn't win anything.

Determined to win more, Josh revealed he had spent £50 again - and they managed to bag even more prizes. After ripping the first sticker off a drink, Megan revealed they had won £5 off a personalised phone case. Josh added: "We've won already. That's a good start." Josh also won a 15% discount code off a McDonald's order and a McDonald's Coca-Cola or Milkshake - but when they checked their Double Peel, Josh revealed their biggest win - a discount for £75 off a £750 spend with TUI.

However, the TikToker was most excited by only needing a few more properties to win big. He said: "We only need one more blue one, one more red one, one more orange." In the second video he added that they now only needed "one more green". They also revealed that if the video received 100,000 likes, they would do a part three, buying even more items.

McDonald's recently updated fans with how many of the Monopoly Prizes had been snapped up - and how many were still up for grabs. The fast food chain shared on October 1 that over 25.3 million prizes had been given away since the game started on September 6. They also revealed that there had been two lucky winners of the £100,000 cash prize.
