The show kicked off on Monday (October 21) with Alex alongside co-host Roman Kemp ready to serve up the latest stories. During the broadcast, Alex revealed an exciting seasonal surprise in store for viewers.
She excitedly declared: "We have got some exciting news, because this year The One Show is teaming up with The Repair Shop to give one of you a very special treat."
Keen to get fans involved, Alex explained: "So if you have a treasured possession that needs repairing or sprucing up, we would love to hear from you."

Her co-presenter Roman couldn't hide his thrill about the collaboration. He added: "I promise you this is one of the best things you could ever do.", reports .
Roman reminisced about his own heartwarming experience with The Repair Shop when they rescued his mum's cherished Christmas Angel decoration, which had been sadly ravaged by the family dog. He recalled: "It was honestly, it made Christmas last year."
The programme then showcased a touching moment where Roman's mother Shirlie gets reunited with the restored Christmas Angel, causing emotional ripples. Alex commented appreciatively: "You can hear she's emotional, lovely!"
Shifting gears to a more sombre topic, Alex shared some personal news last month. In a conversation with Harry Judd on their new podcast 'Binge!
', she spoke of a recent loss: "It is a bit of a sad week, actually, because my mother-in-law, Annabel... she is a really, really beautiful woman, lovely."
"And she has been over for five weeks from Auckland, staying with us, and she has just been there as we've settled the children into new schools, seen the new house, she is just a good person to have around."
"She pulls Charlie into line which is the key reason I love her but she left on Wednesday and that was really sad because we just don't know when we will see her again," she added. Alex is married to Charlie Thomson and together they have three children, Teddy, seven, Kit, four, and Annie, two.
