VP debate viewers say JD Vance is a 'young Miley Cyrus' for his 'soul-piercing' trait

Viewers tuning in to the US Vice Presidential debate were busily pinpointing numerous aspects they found off-putting about the VP candidates, with JD Vance's eyes causing particular concern...

The Vice Presidential hopeful is recognised for his polished look, but his striking blue eyes were a standout feature. One observer on Twitter shared an old snap of pop sensation Miley Cyrus, drawing parallels to the singer.

The photo, often circulated among fans, shows Miley offering the camera a vacant stare, her heavily-lined eyes appearing to burst with colour.

Currently, social media jesters are ribbing those with blue eyes, suggesting they are "staring into our souls."

This feeling was only echoed as viewers continued to pile on criticism of the senator's appearance, reports the Mirror US.

Given Miley's intense makeup, some are speculating if JD was taking tips, applying eyeliner himself. "I just wanna know what eyeliner Vance uses. He's weird as hell but my eyes are a similar colour and I wanna make em look that good," penned one individual.

Another suggested a possible alternative makeup product, stating: "I know we talk a lot about the eyeliner but Vance's nose contour goes hard."

One viewer offered a tongue-in-cheek suggestion for the next debate question, saying: "Hey Nora, can you ask Vance what eyeliner he uses? I'm on the market for something that will make my eyes pop."

The speculation about JD's makeup only intensified when he turned his head towards Tim Walz, giving a different view. "JD Vance side-eyeing the camera to show off his eyeliner- we get it booboo you love your baby blues- maybe answer a question clearly instead," another viewer quipped.

The 2024 Vice Presidential debate between Tim and JD took place on Tuesday at the CBS Broadcast Center in New York City. With just a month to go until the November presidential election, the pressure is mounting for Ohio senator Vance and Minnesota Governor Walz.

Walz is the running mate of current VP and presidential candidate Kamala Harris for the Democratic party, while Vance is Donald Trump's running mate for the Republican party ticket.

CBS Evening News anchor Norah O'Donnell and foreign affairs correspondent Margaret Brennan moderated the event. The 90-minute debate had no live audience, and the candidates were not informed of the topics in advance.
