JEE Mains 2024: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued an important advisory for students appearing for the Joint Entrance Examination (Main)-2025. This advisory is regarding the technical problem in Aadhaar card authentication. The agency has issued guidelines after receiving various complaints from the candidates in this regard. Candidates approached the NTA seeking a solution to the mismatch in names on the Aadhaar card and Class 10th educational certificate/mark sheet.
The official notification of NTA states, "Registration for online application forms of Joint Entrance Examination (Main) - 2025 has started as per the public notice dated 28 October 2024. Subsequently, NTA has been receiving complaints from some candidates regarding the technical problem in Aadhaar card authentication due to a mismatch in names on the Aadhaar card and 10th educational certificate/mark sheet while filling out the online application form for JEE (Main) - 2025. To streamline the process, NTA has made slight modifications in the online application form to assist the candidates in completing their form smoothly." NTA told the solution
The following steps should be taken by the candidates to overcome such problems:-
If a candidate receives the following message/pop-up after selecting "Confirm Name as per Aadhaar", the candidate should close the (X) in the message/pop-up box:-
On closing the above message/pop up box, a new window will appear on the screen to proceed for Aadhaar authentication. In this step, candidates have to enter their name exactly as it appears on their Aadhaar card.
During this process, the name recorded on both the educational certificate and the Aadhaar card will be recorded, which will enable the candidate to fill out the application form.
Candidates are advised to take note of the above points and fill the application form accordingly.
Also, take care of these things.
As per the schedule, the last date for JEE Main registration is November 22. The exam will start from January 22 at various locations in India and abroad.
NTA has started the registration process for Session 1 only. The application form for Session 2 will be made available separately. As per the JEE Mains notification, registration for the April session will begin from January 31.
If a candidate wishes to register for session 2 only, he/she will have to apply when the form is uploaded on the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in.
The candidature of those who have submitted more than one application will be cancelled and their results will not be declared.
The confirmation page of the online application form for each session will be generated only after successful payment of the fee by the applicant.
How to create a password
NTA has advised candidates to create a password of 8 to 13 characters. Candidates will have to choose a security question and its answer, which will be used to retrieve the password in future. The password should be created as per the following policy:
Should be of 8 to 13 characters.
Should contain at least one capital letter.
Should contain at least one lowercase letter.
Should contain at least one numeric value.
Should contain at least one special character.
