Just 24 hours after the bookings commenced, the introductory pricing for the MG Windsor Pro has come to an end. Initially available at Rs 17.49 lakh, ex-showroom, for the first 8,000 bookings, the EV now carries a price tag of Rs 18.10 lakh, ex-showroom, reflecting a Rs 60,000 increase. The carmaker confirmed that the entire initial batch of 8,000 units was booked within 24 hours of bookings opening on May 8.
MG's Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) option has also seen a revision. The model, which previously started at Rs 12.50 lakh with a rental rate of Rs 4.5 per km for the battery, now begins at Rs 13.09 lakh under the same per-kilometre rental rate.
MG Windsor Pro: All you need to know
The MG Windsor Pro comes equipped with a larger 52.9 kWh battery pack, delivering an enhanced claimed range of 449 km on a single charge. Powering the electric crossover is the familiar motor producing 136 hp and 200 Nm of peak torque. Charging options include a 7.4kW AC charger that takes around 9.5 hours for a full charge, and a 60kW DC fast charger that juices it up from 20% to 80% in just 50 minutes.
The updated model also introduces Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) charging capabilities, allowing it to power external devices or even charge other EVs. Besides that, the Windsor Pro gets redesigned 18-inch alloy wheels and three new colour options: Celadon Blue, Glaze Red, and Aurora Silver. The cabin now features a two-tone ivory and black finish.
MG has retained its signature features, including a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 8.8-inch digital driver’s display, panoramic glass roof, wireless phone charger, 9-speaker Infinity sound system, 360-degree camera, electronic parking brake, and six airbags. A powered tailgate has also been added to the list of features.
Another major upgrade comes in the form of inclusion of ADAS Level 2. It brings in adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, autonomous emergency braking, and other autonomous features.
