Amritsar (Punjab) [India], September 23 (ANI): Border Security Forces (BSF) and Punjab Police in a joint operation recovered a drone in a farming field adjacent to Mahwa village in Amritsar district on Monday.
"The recovered drone has been identified as a China-made DJI Mavic 3 Classic," BSF said in a press release.
As per an official release, On September 23, acting on information from BSF intelligence wing regarding presence of drone in border area of district Amritsar, BSF troops, in collaboration with Punjab Police, carried out an extensive search in the suspected area.
"During the joint search, at about 06:20 pm, troops successfully recovered 01 drone from a farming field adjacent to Mahwa village in Amritsar District. This drone is presumed to be technically neutralised due to activation of BSF's technical counter measures deployed in border area," the release stated.
"A reliable input and prompt action of BSF troops with Punjab Police once again successfully foiled an illicit attempt drone intrusion from across the border," BSF stated in the release.
Earlier on September 12, the Border Security Force (BSF) and Punjab Police, in a joint operation, recovered a drone with 6.230 kg of suspected heroin in the Tarn Taran district of Punjab.
On September 9, the Border Security Force (BSF) troops recovered 1.180 kilogrammes of suspected heroin in the border area of Amritsar district. (ANI)
