Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], October 23 (ANI): Ahead of the Diwali festival, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved the payment of salaries and pensions to state employees, pensioners, and family pensioners, according to an official statement.
A government order regarding this, issued by Additional Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan on Wednesday, has been addressed to all department heads, District Magistrates, the Director of Treasury, Pension and Entitlement, and all senior treasury officers.
The statement clarified that due to the Diwali festival on 31 October 2024, the payment of salaries for state employees, employees of aided educational and technical institutions, urban local bodies, and those in charge, as well as pensions and family pensions for October 2024, will be made before 30 October 2024. This applies to pensioners and family pensioners receiving their pensions from Uttarakhand's treasuries.
The Chief Minister has previously implemented several welfare initiatives for state workers. On 23 September, the CM Dhami-led BJP government also approved a 4 per cent increase in dearness allowance for employees working in corporations, bodies, and authorities, effective from 1 January 2024.
Similarly, the increased dearness allowance will be paid to serving and retired personnel in corporations, bodies, authorities, panchayats, autonomous institutions, and undertakings from 1 January 2024. Employees of public bodies and undertakings receiving the fifth central pay scale will also receive the increased allowance from 1 January 2024. (ANI)
