After a thrilling five-month musical journey, Indian Idol 15 has finally crowned its winner—24-year-old Manasi Ghosh from Kolkata, West Bengal. Known fondly as ‘Idol Ki Crazy Girl’, Manasi stood out for her energetic stage presence and versatile voice, taking on everything from soulful classical renditions to upbeat pop numbers. She beat fellow finalists Sneha Shankar and Subhajit Chakraborty to win the title in a grand finale filled with glitz, emotion, and unforgettable performances.

Manasi Ghosh's early life and family background
Hailing from Nimta, Kolkata, Manasi’s passion for music began early in life. She decided to become a professional singer in class 8 and has since participated in multiple singing competitions. According to Sangbad Pratidin, encouraged by her parents, Manasi Ghosh began learning music at the age of four. Her love for singing grew with time, and she did her first stage show at 13, starting to earn by 15.

Her educational background
Balancing studies and music, she graduated in English Honours from Surendranath College in 2021, reported the tabloid. That same year, she was the runner-up in Super Singer. She later auditioned for Indian Idol in mid-2024 and won the title after impressing judges and audiences for months.

A special episode even featured her parents sharing how she had taken charge of the family's finances at a young age, promising to one day buy them houses—a moment that moved both the judges and audience alike.

Winning Indian Idol 15 has brought Manasi both recognition and rewards. Along with the prestigious title, she received a cash prize of Rs 25 lakh and a brand-new car. Speaking to the media after her victory, she shared that the win had already changed her life in many ways. “My family was here for the finale. They were crying and cheering. I was blank at first, not knowing how to react. But all of us are really happy. It’s a national platform, and I’ve received so much love and blessings from across the country.”

Manasi also revealed that she has already stepped into the music industry, having recorded a duet with renowned singer Shaan and music director Lalit Pandit. She plans to use a portion of her prize money to produce her own music and invest in her musical journey ahead.

Runner-up Sneha Shankar also had a memorable season. She took home a cheque of Rs 5 lakh and signed a promising contract with Bhushan Kumar’s music label, setting the stage for her career ahead. The grand finale was an entertainment-packed evening with emotional performances by contestants, heartfelt moments by the judges—Shreya Ghoshal, Vishal Dadlani, and Badshah—and special appearances by stars like Shilpa Shetty, Raveena Tandon, and Mika Singh. Host Aditya Narayan’s lively presence added to the magic, with his own performance leaving the audience in awe.

Indian Idol 15 has once again proved to be a life-changing platform for budding talents, and Manasi Ghosh’s journey is a shining example of where passion and perseverance can lead.
