The news was confirmed on Thursday by the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) that numerous leading trade associations in Delhi have called for a “complete shutdown” of commercial businesses in the capital.
CAIT in an official statement mentioned, “The brutal terrorist attack in Pahalgam, which claimed the lives of innocent citizens, has deeply shaken the trading community. As a tribute to the victims and in solidarity with national efforts against terrorism, Delhi’s trade bodies have called for a peaceful market bandh on Friday,”
More than 100 markets in Delhi are expected to remain shut down today. On Thursday, members of CTI and more than 100 trade associations also wore black armbands and gathered at Connaught Place to protest.
