Actress Chhaya Kadam has received a summons from the Forest Department in connection with a complaint filed against her by the Plant and Animal Welfare Society (PAWS), a city-based NGO. The development was confirmed by Rakesh Bhoir, the investigating officer in the case. When FPJ contacted the actress, she also confirmed the same.
Bhoir said, “We have summoned the actress to appear before us on Monday, and she will be interrogated accordingly over the statements she made in a video interview given to a radio channel, in which she allegedly admitted to consuming protected wildlife species.”
Kadam, who appeared in the film Laapataa Ladies, allegedly admitted in a video interview—uploaded by a radio channel—to consuming meat from protected wildlife species. The interview, posted on YouTube, claims she ate meat from animals such as mouse deer, rabbits, wild boar, monitor lizard, and porcupine.
