Khandwa (MAdhya Pradesh): Chief Minister Mohan Yadav participated in Tendu Leaf Committee, Forest Committee and Tribal Conference programmes in Harsud, Khandwa district on Thursday.
CM Yadav inaugurated a 100-bed civil hospital in Harsud, announcing it would be named ‘Shri Sant Bukhardas Baba Civil Hospital.’ During the event, he distributed drinking water bowls to tendu leaf collectors and modern technology-equipped multipurpose sticks to elderly tribals.
The sticks, provided by Minister Vijay Shah at his personal expense, feature sirens, torch functionality, FM radio capabilities and can be folded for convenient storage.
The CM highlighted various Central and State Government schemes, urging officials to connect every poor family with these benefits. Additionally, he inaugurated two utensil banks in Harsud that will provide kitchenware to underprivileged families for marriage ceremonies and other events at a nominal fee of Rs 5.
The event drew more than 30,000 attendees, with forest committees from Khandwa, Betul, Harda, and Burhanpur participating in the conference.
KDSS celebrates Labour Day
Khandwa (Madhya Pradesh): Khandwa Diocesan Social Services (KDSS) celebrated International Labour Day across villages in the project area. The director of DSS, Jayan Alex, explained that the day is dedicated to honouring the hard work, dedication and rights of workers, acknowledging their contributions to society. The day symbolises the social and economic achievements of the working class.
The organisation conducted awareness programmes in various villages, where workers were honoured and appreciated for their efforts. The celebration recognised the importance of defending worker's rights and promoting their welfare.
The event saw active participation from both men and women, with local Anganwadi workers and DSS staff.
