Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Lasudia police have arrested two habitual offenders involved in an armed robbery that took place near Bypass Road. The accused, identified as Tanveer and Shoaib alias Annu of Hina Palace Colony, Khajrana, were caught within 36 hours of committing the crime.
According to police, the duo has a history of criminal activities including assault and intimidation. They admitted to targeting people in the Bypass area to fund their lavish lifestyle and personal indulgences.
On the night of April 18, complainant Ram Avtar Rajput, a resident of Mahalaxmi Nagar, was returning home with friends via Bypass Road. Around 3:20 AM, near the main gate of Goyal Green, MR 11, he stopped his car.
At that moment, the accused arrived on an Activa scooter, threatened him with a knife and robbed him of his iPhone 15 Pro. They also forcibly obtained the password and transferred Rs 18,000 via UPI.
Based on his complaint, Lasudia police registered FIR under section 309(4) BSA and launched an investigation. On the information received, police intercepted the suspects on April 20 at MR 11.
As they tried to flee, both fell from their scooter, sustaining minor injuries. Upon interrogation, they confessed to the crime.
Police recovered the stolen mobile, the knife used in the robbery and the Activa scooter. The operation was led by Lasudia SHO inspector Taresh Kumar Soni and his team. Further investigations are ongoing.
