Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): A man was allegedly beaten to death after a quarrel erupted between neighbours over dumping garbage, a police official said. As per reports, the incident occurred at Nitin Nagar on Saturday.
Deceased was identified as Anil Mahor. The incident was captured on CCTV. The scuffle over garbage dumping escalated into a physical confrontation between Anil and his neighbour, Narendra Yadav.
Yadav allegedly threw a bucket of garbage near Anil’s house. Witnesses reported that Anil retaliated by beating Narendra with a stick, prompting Narendra's brother, Yogendra Yadav, and other family members to join and start beating Anil.
Concerned bystanders intervened, but Anil’s health started deteriorating after the fight. He struggled to breathe and was taken to multiple hospitals before being admitted to the district hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Anil's family has accused Yadav’s family of murder. Thatipur police registered a case and are awaiting the post-mortem report to determine the cause of death.
Police officials said that action would follow based on the investigation findings. A case of death was registered and a probe was launched.
Youth dies in celebratory firing at wedding
Bhind (Madhya Pradesh): A youth died from a gunshot wound during a wedding ceremony in the district on Saturday. One more person received injuries, said police official.
As per reports, the incident occurred during the Lagan Tika festival in Barkapura village under the Bharouli police station area.
Deceased identified as Pranshu Chauhan from Adokhar, was fatally shot while attending the celebration.
Despite being rushed to the hospital, was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Another young man, Dilip Baghel, sustained serious injuries in the incident and was referred to Gwalior for further treatment.
According to eyewitnesses, the shooting happened around 1 am during the Lagan Phaldan programme, where guests were preparing for the festivities.
Reports indicate that 4 to 5 individuals from the boy's side engaged in celebratory firing.
Upon receiving the information, police station in-charge Girish Sharma arrived at the scene and launched an investigation into the matter.
Body was shifted for post-mortem and police were reviewing surrounding videos and eyewitness statements to identify those responsible for the reckless act.
