Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Nearly 14,000 candidates appeared in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Undergraduate courses (NEET UG) 2025, organised by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on Sunday.
The exam was held at 35 centres in the city. Aspirants said the difficulty level of the questions was moderate.
They said that Physics was tougher than the other two sections — Chemistry and Biology. Those who sat for the exam for the first time found it tough.
Many of the examinees were accompanied by their parents, who spent the time outside the examination centres. Some of them were from the neighbouring towns of Bhopal.
Harshita Sharma from Bhopal told the Free Press it was her fourth attempt. “Physics questions were quite tough and lengthy. Questions on inorganic chemistry had more weightage than those on organic,” she said, adding, “The questions ranged from moderate to tough in comparison to the last four years.”
Aarti Sahu from Mandla, who also sat for the fourth time, was upbeat. “Biology questions were easy in comparison to physics and chemistry. Some questions were out of the NCERT syllabus,” she said.
“It was my third attempt. It was good, but the Chemistry questions were lengthy,” Ratnakar Kushwaha from Sehore said.
Gausiya Fatima from Bhopal was giving the exam her second shot. “The pattern of the exam was moderate. Biology questions were lengthy,” she said, adding that “The OMR sheet was given at 1.55 pm, which is five minutes before the exam started. It took us 15-20 minutes to fill the sheets.”
Saraswati Jaiswal from Seoni, said, “It was my first attempt. It was quite tough.”
Few glitches, yet smooth conduct
Aspirants were expected to reach the centres by noon for the exam starting at 2 pm.The entry, however, started at 11 am. The district administration and health department had made arrangements for the smooth conduct of the examination. Students at the Barkatullah University centre were upset as there was no verification counter there. People accompanying students were also stopped 100 metres before the centre. The candidates were allowed tocarry only a pen, a pencil, their admit card, an identity card, and a water bottle to the centre.
Medical arrangements
Around 50 medical teams were deployed in Bhopal to deal with any emergency during the examination. A doctor and paramedical staff were also present at each examination centre. Besides, 108 ambulance vehicles were also kept in quick response mode, so that medical assistance could be provided immediately if needed. Special medical teams were also formed for coordination at the zonal level.
