A video has surfaced online showing a college student hitting her teacher with slippers on the college premises. The incident reportedly took place at Raghu Engineering College in Andhra Pradesh’s Vizianagaram.

The viral video shows the student arguing with the teacher after the latter confiscated her mobile phone. The furious student can be seen shouting at the teacher before hitting her with slippers.

The student’s actions led to a physical brawl between the two. Soon, a woman and a man intervened and tried to separate the student and the teacher, as shown in the video.

According to reports, the student claimed that her phone was worth Rs 12,000 and started hurling abuses at the teacher.

The situation intensified when the student removed her footwear and threatened the teacher by saying, “Will you give my phone back or should I hit you with my slipper?” When the teacher refused to return the device, the enraged student attempted to physically assault her with the footwear.

The incident has triggered varied reactions online. One netizen commented, “This is the respect today's children give their teachers. The fault isn't with the children but with the parents and teachers themselves. Is it right for teachers who collect lakhs in fees to expect respect?”

Another expressed concern: “Parents are 100% at fault here. They're raising children who are too pampered and not teaching them basic responsibilities. The future looks frightening.”

Some users took a more balanced approach, with one stating, “We're quick to blame children for everything… the teacher might be at fault too.”

Others pointed to technology as a factor: “Since the era of smartphones began, this is what's happening. Both educational institutions collecting money and parents share equal responsibility in this situation.”
