TDP MLA Prasad Daggupati Apologises After Leaked Audio Abusing Jr NTR Sparks Backlash: 'Conspiracies Have Been Plotted Against Me'

TDP MLA Prasad Daggupati recently sparked controversy after a leaked audio went viral, in which he was allegedly heard abusing Jr NTR and claiming that the actor’s latest release War 2 would be stopped from screening in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh. When someone in the conversation tried to reason with him, the MLA retorted, "It doesn’t matter. War 2 will not be released, it won’t run, it won’t run. I am the MLA here," allegedly warning that the film would be blocked, a statement that did not sit well with Jr NTR’s fans.

Prasad Daggupati Apologises Over Leaked Audio Targeting Jr NTR

After the backlash, Prasad Daggupati shared a video on X (formerly Twitter) apologising and clarifying that the leaked audio was not his voice, claiming it was part of a political conspiracy.

He was heard saying in Telugu, "Those audio calls are not mine. This is all being done as part of a political conspiracy. For the past 16 months, conspiracies have been plotted against me in the Urban constituency. From the beginning, I have been an admirer of the Nandamuri family. I have always loved watching Balakrishna and NTR’s movies. But now, fake audio calls have been created as if I abused Jr NTR. That call is fake, there is no truth in it."

Prasad Daggupati Lodges Complaint, Apologises To Jr NTR Fans

Further, in the video, he stated that he has lodged a complaint with the district SP and assured that the police will investigate and take appropriate action. However, Prasad Daggupati added that if the audio call has hurt the sentiments of NTR’s fans, he apologises. He clarified that even though he has no involvement in it, since his name has been mentioned, he is offering this apology.

"I will always remain loyal to the Nara and Nandamuri families," he added.
