Ayodhya is an ancient city in India that is known as the setting of the Hindu epic Ramayana. Ayodhya, the birthplace of Lord Shri Ram, is located in Uttar Pradesh. Which is one of the oldest cities in the country. The earlier name of this city was Faizabad, which has been renamed Ayodhya. Ayodhya is considered to be the birthplace of Lord Shri Ram, which is situated on the banks of the Saryu River. Sita's Kitchen
Lord Shri Ram's wife Mata Sita is also worshiped as much as Ram ji is. A small temple of Mata Sita is located in Ayodhya. Famous as Sita's Kitchen, this temple is located about half an hour away from the Saryu River. Here you can see a symbolic kitchen made of traditional utensils. Hanuman Garhi
Hanuman Garhi is one of the major religious places of Ayodhya. Hanuman Garhi has a temple dedicated to Hanuman, which has its religious significance. This temple site earlier belonged to the Nawab of Awadh, who donated it for the construction of the temple. This temple is situated on the top of a hill which was built in the 10th century. To reach the temple, travelers have to go through 76 stairs. The idol of Hanuman ji located in the temple welcomes the devotees. The top of the hill offers a very spectacular view of the surrounding hills. People of the Hindu religion come to visit this temple in large numbers and along with having a darshan of Hanuman ji, they also pray for liberation from their sins. There is also a belief about Hanuman Garhi that whatever devotees who come here wish with a true heart, God fulfills their wishes.
Treta Ke Thakur
Located near Ayodhya's Naya Ghat, the Treta Ke Thakur temple houses several idols including Lord Rama, Sita, Lakshmana, Hanuman, Bharata, and Sugriv. These idols are said to have been carved out of a single black sandstone. Treta Ke Thakur is believed to have been built 300 years ago by the then King Kullu. It is said that the structure is located on the same land as the famous Ashvamedha Yagna performed by Lord Rama. The temple was again given a new look by the then-Maratha queen Ahilyabai Holkar in the 1700s. It is open to the public only once a year on a day marked as Ekadashi.
Nageshwar Nath Temple
The Nageshwar Nath temple is present in Ram Ki Paadi. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is believed that this temple was built by Kush, the younger son of Lord Shri Rama. It is said that once Kush lost his armlet while bathing in the Saryu river, which was returned by a Naag Kanya. This temple was built for the Naag Kanya who was fascinated by Kush. Lakhs of devotees and visitors visit this temple on the day of Shivratri.
Kanak Bhawan
Kanak Bhawan is the main tourist spot of Ayodhya, where earlier there was another temple. It is said that this temple was given to Sita by Lord Ram's stepmother Kaikeyi after marriage. Let us tell you that later this temple was rebuilt by King Vikramaditya of the Parmara dynasty, which was rebuilt in 1891. Kanak Bhawan is one of the most attractive places in Ayodhya where the amazing architecture attracts everyone.
Tulsi Smarak Bhawan
Established in the memory of 16th-century saint-poet Goswami Tulsidas, the Tulsi Smarak Bhawan is believed to be the place where Tulsidas composed Ramacharit. Located at the eastern end of the National Highway at Rajgang Crossing in Ayodhya, the memorial was built in 1969 by Shri Vishwanath Das, the then Governor of Uttar Pradesh. You will find a storehouse of rich literature in the huge library. The memorial also has a research center called 'Ayodhya Anusandhan Sansthan'. It is used to study and add importance to literary, cultural, and spiritual information about Ayodhya. The center also exhibits Ramayana art and crafts and also has a daily recitation of Ramkatha.
Guitar Ghat
Situated on the banks of the Sarju River, this Guitar Ghat is known as a major pilgrimage site. There are many small temples and beautiful views here to liberate the mind of the people. It is said that Lord Shri Ram took Jal Samadhi on this ghat. People come to this place in large numbers to visit with the desire to attain salvation. This ghat was reconstructed during the 19th century. Talking about the main centers of faith of this Guitar Ghat, the names of Hanuman Temple, Ram Janaki Temple, Narsingh Temple, Old Charan Paduka Temple, etc. are included.
Devkali Devi Temple
Devkali Devi Temple has a grand place in Ram Nagari Ayodhya. It is said about this temple that it is the temple of the Kuldevi of Shriram. Devkali Devi Temple is very prominent among the people. Devotees come here in large numbers every year. There is a belief associated with this temple that no person goes empty-handed after coming here. Devkali Devi of Lord Ram fulfills the wishes of all her devotees. During Ram Navami, the number of devotees increases significantly here.
Moti Mahal
Moti Mahal is a very attractive structure located a few kilometers from Ayodhya city in Faizabad, which is popularly known as 'Pearl Palace'. This palace was built in 1743 AD and was the home of Rani Begum Unmatujohra Banu, wife of Nawab Shuja-ud-Daula. Moti Mahal is a fine example of Mughal architecture and a large number of tourists come to see it.
Dashrath Mahal
The palace of Dashrath, the father of Lord Shri Ram, is located in Ayodhya and is known as the Dashrath Mahal. This place is called a pilgrimage place. This is the place where Shri Ram and all his brothers spent their childhood. The colorful and majestic design entrance here is the specialty of this place. Devotional songs are chanted here daily. The statues of Lord Shri Ram, Laxman, and Sita have also been installed in this Dashrath Bhawan. A large number of people come to see this palace.
