In a separate post, one person said: "Was starting to think I imagined them, but nah — Alpen bars (including Alpen Delight) have actually disappeared from every supermarket and even their website. No pages, no mentions, not even in the product archive. Just gone.
"I emailed Alpen to ask what was going on and they replied confirming they’ve discontinued the whole line. No announcement, no heads-up — just wiped off the map."
Replying to this post, another shopper said: "I have genuinely been looking for alpen bars the past few weeks!!"
A spokesperson from Weetabix told the Sun: "As part of our focus on long term growth and simplifying the business, we made the decision to discontinue Alpen bars in 2024.
"This change enabled us to redeploy our teams toward our most valuable products, supporting the continued growth of our core operations.
"We’re pleased to confirm that, as a result of this decision, the majority of our brilliant people chose to stay and help us to remain focused on delivering the great-tasting, nutritious products our consumers know and trust."
In more food news, Cadbury has announced it is launching a brand new Twirl chocolate bar - and it looks just like a discontinued fan favourite. Twirl White Dipped is basically a classic Twirl bar that has been dipped in a white chocolate coating.
The dipped Twirls are limited edition from June 2 - so you’ll only be able to grab one for a limited time. The RRP (recommended retail price) is 99p but retailers can set their own prices.
Cadbury fans may be right in thinking the Cadbury Twirl White Dipped looks a bit familiar. It is essentially the reverse of the classic Flake , which featured a white flake dipped in milk chocolate. It was launched in 2000 before being discontinued in 2008.
The iconic chocolate brand shared the news in a post on , where they said: "OK but we’ve really outdone ourselves with this one. Introducing Twirl White Dipped, keep your eyes peeled for when you can get your hands on it..."
