Tensions were brewing in the Celebrity Big Brother house on Tuesday, leaving Chris Hughes in tears. The former star took to the Diary Room to complain about a revelation that he had been annoying his fellow housemates.
As the group were tasked with finding hidden , a clue described how one of them was where someone had said he had been annoying them. Visibly shaken at the confession, Chris wanted to know who had said it.
Danny had tried to diffuse the situation by saying it could have been him during a task in which Chris had a megaphone. But he joked he hadn't made the comment where the egg was hidden.
He was in the Diary Room for 63 minutes. He told Big Brother: "I'm exhausted in this house to be honest. I think I'm too normal and lead a stress free life. If people have things to say just say it and air it."
Chris then became tearful as he went on: "I hate toxic stuff in life. I hate toxic energy. It just brings you down. You can feel when energy shifts and it's just not nice.
"I don't want to be emotional and sad but sometimes you just can't help it."
Fans online shared their thoughts on the emotional scenes, with one Twitter/X user saying: "I don't care if you like or dislike Chris. He's been a positive, fun and sunny person in the house and against the likes of Patsy it's nice to see. He brings the mood up!
To see him cry after being beaten down by bullies is really sad! #CBBUK."
Another added: "Chris just seems like a really nice guy tbh. He just wants to be himself and have fun, makes me sad to see him upset #CBBUK."
After returning to his housemates, he tried to deflect from the issue when Patsy Palmer asked why he was there so long. After claiming to have had a stomach ache, Patsy thought he had received a secret meal.
However, with pal JoJo Siwa noticing he was upset, she grabbed him for a hug. He continued to ponder on the moment, saying he "isn't cut out" for the Big Brother house in a chat with JoJo in the garden.
It comes as the housemates were tasked with nominating once again, but with a twist. Instead of venting their thoughts in the Diary Room, the contestants had to make their decisions in front of their fellow housemates.
In front of each housemate was a basket with two eggs inside. The were told to place an egg in the basket of the housemates they were wanting to nominate before explaining their reasons.
also had another brutal twist up the sleeve following the nominations, with one of the nominated housemates given the chance to save themselves. However, they must find the one golden egg hidden in a basket at the centre of the room.
But the twist was one of the non-nominated housemates Find this, and they save themselves. BUT they must choose one of the non-nominated housemates to replace them. Who will be saved? And who is set to face the public vote?
Celebrity Big Brother continues weeknights at 9PM ON ITV1 and ITVX
