Jack P Shepherd has revealed the emotional role his on-screen mum played at his real life wedding.
The actor, 37, who has played David Platt on Coronation Street since 2000, tied the knot with Hanni Treweek, 35, in a romantic ceremony at Manchester Cathedral in July this year. It was an occasion attended by a host of his co-stars including Tina O'Brien, who stars as his on-screen sister Sarah, and Helen Worth, who left her role as matriarch Gail last Christmas after 50 years on the cobbles.
Jack and Hanni had their joint interview as a married couple on Thursday's Loose Women alongside anchor Kaye Adams, Oti Mabuse, Judi Love and Jane Moore. The Celebrity Big Brother winner revealed that his on-screen mum had a role in the ceremony, as did Ben Price, who stars as his on-screen brother Nick.

He said: "Helen gave a Bible reading, Ben gave a Bible reading. So we thought we'd get the actors up. I was 12 when I started, 25 years, it's mad because I've done 25 and when I started, Helen had done 25!"
Jack was then asked about what it is like without his on-screen mum on set with him. Viewers watched over the festive period as the legendary character tied the knot for the seventh time after finding love with Jesse Chadwick (John Thomson), the former flame of her rival Eileen Grimshaw (Sue Cleaver). Despite the absence, Jack insisted that the show 'carries on' no matter what.
He said: "What's it like with her not on the set? It just moves on. Big characters have been in and gone and the show still carries on. The Platts is such a great family and I'm lucky to be in that clan!"
Jack took over the part of David from Thomas Ormson and has remained in the show ever since. He is currently married to Shona Platt (Julia Goulding), who is the mother of the boy who murdered his first wife Kylie Platt (Paula Lane).
During his teenage years, David saw his character through a number of storylines that put Gail through the emotional wringer. After her serial killer husband Richard Hillman (Brian Capron) drove the whole family into a canal, he drowned but David decided to send cards to Gail as if they had been written from beyond the grave.
In the years that followed, David struck up a relationship with Tina McIntyre (Michelle Keegan) and Gail paid for her to have a private abortion when she fell pregnant. When he found out, David pushed Gail down the stairs and later smashed up the street before going to prison.
Helen made her first public appearance since leaving her signature role at Jack's wedding and looked to be in great sprits throughout the day. She attended attended Jack's wedding with her husband Trevor Dawson and she wore a patterned blue dress.
She completed her look with a pair of black heels and a matching clutch bag and sported her trademark hairdo.
Just over a year ago, Corrie bosses released a statement over Helen's decision to quit the soap. She explained: "This year felt like the perfect time to leave the show after celebrating 50 years in the most wonderful job on the most wonderful street in the world."
She added: "I made the decision at the start of the year and spoke to the producers who were very kind and understanding."
Helen went on to say: "I have been truly blessed to have been given the most incredible scripts week in week out, and to have worked with fantastic actors, directors and a brilliant crew.
"The past 50 years have flown by and I don't think the fact that I am leaving has quite sunk in yet."
