Despite his high-profile ventures, many are unaware of Musk's backstory before he became a household name. The 53-year-old South African-born entrepreneur reshared an image on X, captioning it: "Nothing has changed." The shared snapshot shows a younger in a relaxed pose with his legs playfully up in the air, possibly in a college dorm setting.

This nostalgic moment comes after Musk, on Sunday (May 4), adopted the name Gorklon Rust for his X handle.

Fans speculate that this quirky new username is a blend of 'Grok', the AI chatbot from X, and 'Rust', hinting at the programming language used by Musk's AI venture xAI, as reported by .

Musk's trip down memory lane has clearly struck a chord with his X followers, with the post quickly racking up 13.7 million views, 48,000 likes, and 3,500 comments.

Fans agreed that Musk really hasn't changed all that much over the years. One X user commented: "Haha. it looks like you've always had a fun and quirky side, Elon!

"This photo is awesome, it really captures the student spirit. You're right, some things never change."

Another asked: "How did you maintain the same enthusiasm and vibe for this long ? Inbuilt or training?"
