Former cast member has been seen in a rare photo with his partner Heather Scott-Martin this week. It was shared with fans on social media as part of a tribute to the actor for his birthday today.
Matthew, now 45 - best known for playing David Metcalfe on the show - is thought to have been in a relationship with Heather for over a year. The pair had worked together in a West End production of the musical Elf in 2023.
They have been but Heather shared a rare photo of herself and Matthew on today. It was part of a post celebrating his birthday, with her among those marking the occasion on the platform.
The photo showed Matthew smiling as he modelled a blue suit, with a floral pocket square, at an event. Heather was seen beaming beside him whilst wearing a blue dress and a floral bracelet that matched her partner's accessory.
Alongside heart emojis, Heather wrote in the caption of her post earlier: "Happy birthday to the best human." Matthew then shared the post on his own account and, tagging his partner in his version, wrote over it: "I [heart emoji] you."
Matthew and Heather worked together in a production of Elf two years ago. It was reported that following from , now 37, with whom he shares his three children.
It was announced that Matthew and Charley - who played Debbie Dingle on Emmerdale - had separated in November 2023. Just weeks later, he was and, amid speculation, Matthew then before he had split up from his wife Charley.
Matthew and Charley had been together since 2007. They got engaged two years later but it was then announced back in 2013 that the couple had separated. A spokesperson confirmed that news in a statement at the time.
They however later reconciled. After getting back together, Matthew told in 2015: "It was never a permanent split, we just needed some time apart." He also shared: "Sometimes life just gets on top of you."
Three years later, Matthew and Charley in 2018. It was revealed that they hadn't told guests that it was their wedding, with them instead thinking they were going to Charley's 30th birthday party.

More recently, there was speculation that Matthew and Charley were living "separate lives" in 2023, shortly before they announced their break-up. A source told that they were in "different places" to when they got together.
The source said: "[They] were in very different places in their lives when they first got together. Three kids later and with new careers in the mix, everything has changed and perhaps they are no longer the unit they once were."
It was subsequently announced that the former couple had separated. Charley said in a statement: "It is with love and respect that Matthew and I have decided to separate. We remain friends and our priority is the love for our children. For their sake we would appreciate privacy at this time." Matthew shared a similar statement at the time too.
