On the Still Here Hollywood with Steve Kmetko podcast, Wheeler shared touching memories and how she connects with the spirits of Perry and her brother, who also succumbed to addiction. She recounted: "Lots of people talk about spirits showing up as birds and, you know, other things that kind of send a message when someone passes.
"And after Matthew died, I was in a neighbor's pool, and I was alone, and there was nobody else around. And I was on my back, and I was thinking about my brother. And I said, you know, 'Look out for him,' and two hawks flew over my head and flew past me. One circled around and came and got the other one, and it flew past me. So that was a beautiful moment, if you go for that kind of stuff," reports .
Wheeler poignantly remarked: "People all over the who loved him as Chandler, who benefited from the joy that he spread by being a brilliant actor and by being so incredibly funny, so the ripple, the wave was felt by so many.
"For me, I felt just heartbroken and sad that, you know, that he couldn't make it out of this incredibly dark tunnel that he was in for so long. And if you read Matthew's book or if you've read Matthew's book, you know the level of his addiction was so profound."
In his revealing 2022 memoir, Perry shared candid details about his fervent struggles with addiction. In 'Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing', he estimated having spent a staggering £5.3million ($7 million) in efforts to conquer his addiction demons.
In recent updates, five individuals have been brought into custody regarding Perry's death, those identified include Erik Fleming, Mark Chavez, Matthew's personal aide Kenneth Iwamasa, the notorious "Ketamine Queen" Jasveen Sangha, and Salvador Plasencia.

Dr Mark Chavez has admitted guilt to a single charge of conspiracy to distribute ketamine and now potentially faces a decade behind bars. Having struck a plea bargain with the prosecution in August, Chavez has become the third individual to submit a guilty plea subsequent to the Friends legend's fatal ketamine incident.
As well as Chavez, Matthew's assistant Kenneth Iwamasa has also teamed up with federal investigators following his confession that he did indeed assist the actor in sourcing and injecting the lethal ketamine.
Matthew's pal Erik Fleming has also entered a guilty plea to one charge of plotting to supply ketamine and a further charge of distributing the substance, which ultimately led to Matthew's tragic demise.
Now officials are building a case to take action against Dr Salvador Plasencia, who is accused of flogging ketamine to Matthew unlawfully in the month prior to his passing, in addition to laying charges against Jasveen Sangha.
Dubbed by officials as the "Ketamine Queen", Sangha stands accused of being the individual responsible for peddling the deadly dose of ketamine to Matthew. Sangha and Dr Plasencia have both entered not guilty pleas and remain on remand until their cases are heard in court.
