Hollyoaks legend breaks silence as Channel 4 soap return confirmed after 10 years

Danny Mac has confirmed that he's returning to Hollyoaks as Dodger Savage 10 years after he was last seen in the village.

Next year, fans of the will be treated to a blast from the past when the charming villager makes a sensational comeback.

Actor Danny is back filming on the Hollyoaks set a decade later alongside Anna Passey, Nikki Sanderson and Jeremy Sheffield once again.

Dodger had a hero ending back in January 2015 when he went on the run after taking the blame for killing his evil brother Will in order to protect daughter Nico. Once labelled "soap's unluckiest man", how will Dodger fair this time round?

The Blake family is rooted in gothic tales with twists and turns galore, and with the arrival of Jez’s long-lost son, and the return of grandmother Martha (Sherrie Hewson), the family of secrets intensifies.

In true Blake style, mysterious Dodger will be arriving with an agenda, but what is he up to? Talking about reprising his iconic Hollyoaks role, Danny said “After a decade away, I’m thrilled to be returning and reuniting with my incredible co-stars, old friends and a character very close to my heart.

"Dodger escaped, leaving a great deal behind. I’ve always wondered whether he could return and who he might have become in the 10 years since he ran away. Now that he’s back, there’s a lot to uncover, but one way or another, we will finally find out."

The popular character was involved in some of the most controversial storylines in Hollyoaks history including a reveal that he was the father of twin sister Sienna Blake’s daughter Nico. It was revealed that the pair had met as teenagers, not knowing they were twins and Sienna fell pregnant.

Later when they were reunited twisted Sienna developed feelings for him once more, knowing full well he was her brother - and she kidnapped him holding him hostage in an attempt to make him resume their relationship.

The soap has recently introduced Dodger and Sienna’s biological father Jez Blake - the twin brother of Patrick, the man they thought was their father.

Now Jez and his dangerous mother Martha have arrived in the village to head up the family and Dodger’s return will complete the family. Since leaving the show Danny went on to compete in in 2016, finishing as runner-up with Oti Mabuse.

Hollyoaks airs Monday to Wednesday on E4 at 7pm and first look episodes can be streamed Channel 4 from 7am
