star revealed she rushed her to the hospital after he stopped breathing. The actress, who thanked the hospital staff, shared a black-and-white photo of her baby's hand placed on her hand as she said he suffered a 'scary episode'.
Sharing an update with fans, she also shared a picture of the baby cot sitting in the hospital room as she sat in the corner of the room. Stephanie wrote: "I just want to say a massive thank you to Whiston hospital, the staff on the high dependency unit and the staff on the ward for looking after our baby boy and for helping me take him to the hospital and keeping me as calm as she could after what’s been the scariest time of my life.
"On Monday Samuel stopped breathing and had 3 scary episodes. I’ve felt totally helpless & powerless the past few days. He’s endured 2 lumber punctures which unfortunately didn’t work & had a bloody tap, a head scan, lung scan & I can’t count how many Canulas he’s had to have put in and out plus the rest.
"He’s had the full works and every antibiotic to make sure he’s ok." A lumbar puncture is when a thin needle is inserted into the lower back to collect and test cerebrospinal fluid (CSF).
The actress added it was an "absolutely horrendous and traumatic time" for her as she admitted to feeling 'powerless' as she watched him in pain while doctors worked.
She added: "The whole time I have thought about those mums who have poorly babies in hospital for a long time and I honestly don’t know how you do it as I’m mentally and physically drained already my anxiety is through the roof think I’ve gone into autopilot now.
"I’ve thought about Amy so much these past few days. I’m So grateful for the & how utterly amazing and caring the staff have been the nurses and doctors are hero’s and angels. Now to be there for him these next few days and look forward to getting him home when we can."
Fans rushed to the comment section to wish her baby a speedy recovery, with one writing: "Sending so much love Steph Joe & caben sending love and strength to Samuel I hope he gets better soon," and another posted: "So sorry to hear this. Sending lots of love and wishing your babba a speedy recovery. I bet you are feeling on a different planet right now."
Stephanie and her partner, Joe McKalroy, welcomed their newborn in January. Stephanie is already a parent to son Caben, eight, from a previous relationship.
The news of the birth was shared with fans on alongside a series of photos from the hospital. Joe wrote in the caption of the joint post that it had been a "traumatic experience" after sharing his son's name.
He said: "Welcome to the my beautiful baby boy Samuel McKalroy. Named after your uncle the one and only who will always weigh heavy on my heart I wish so much that he could’ve met you and cherished you as much as I do. It has been a traumatic experience but you are finally here in our arms.
"I never thought I could possibly love your mummy anymore than I already do but this is just so special and an unconditional love I cannot explain with words. @stephaniedavis88 I love you more than you will ever know."
