It's only natural to want to cut down on waste in this day and age.

Perhaps that's why the app Too Good To Go has been gaining attention for connecting eateries with people eager to snap up surplus on a budget. It's been a smash hit, and one woman's experience at Toby Carvery left her absolutely gobsmacked.

user Katie, who goes by @katie.gri on the platform, bagged herself a feast for a mere £3.49, scoring not one but two hearty meals at less than £3.50 apiece.

In her video, Katie explained: "I'm not even joking, can you see the steam coming off them? They're heavy too. I'm going to plate mine up, so you can get a proper look at everything we're working with.

"I'm so hungry. It's actually huge. You're in for a treat. I don't think I'll be able to finish all this - is looks massive."

The spread, which she described as looking "unreal", boasted slices of gammon, lashings of mashed and roast potatoes and an array of vegetables, including peas and carrots. It was also topped off with a bit of stuffing for that extra boost of flavour.

Katie couldn't help but rave about the mash that was "so nice", though she did note a tiny letdown in the absence of Yorkshire puddings. Still, she found the deal impressive overall.

Her review has since racked up over 18,000 views, with people dubbing the haul a total "bargain" for the price.

One person exclaimed: "No, stop this right now. It's midnight, and now I want a Toby Carvery." Another chimed in with: "For £3.50, you can't go wrong with that to be fair."

Echoing the sentiment of good value, a third added: "Oh my God, they're the best! I love Too Good To Go - you get so many bargains."

The post gained such traction that even Toby Carvery couldn't resist commenting. The team reached out to Katie to express that they were "so pleased" she enjoyed her meal.
