The special thing about Aamir Khan's films is that the films in which he works are mostly successful at the box office. One such film is 'Rang De Basanti', which was released in 2006 and proved to be a huge hit. The special thing is that attempts were made to cast Shahrukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan in this film, but both of them refused to do the film.

Shahrukh-Hrithik were approached: Rakesh Omprakash Mehra, who is the director of this film, had approached Shahrukh Khan for the role of Lieutenant Ajay Singh Rathod and Hrithik Roshan for the role of Karan Singhania. Rakesh had told in an interview that the star cast of the film was quite big and he needed nine months from each actor. He said, "I had talked to Hrithik, he liked the script, but he did not have time. Shahrukh was also approached for the role of Ajay Rathod, but the dates did not match with him. We could not ask many questions to Shahrukh, we have a healthy relationship."

R Madhavan and Siddharth were cast: After Shahrukh and Hrithik refused, Rakesh cast R Madhavan and Siddharth for these important roles. Along with Aamir Khan, Sharman Joshi, Atul Kulkarni, Kunal Kapoor and Soha Ali Khan also appeared in important roles in the film. Apart from this, senior actors like Anupam Kher, Kiran Kher, Om Puri and Waheeda Rehman also made their presence felt in the film.

Success of 'Rang De Basanti': The film 'Rang De Basanti' not only rocked the box office, but also won the hearts of the audience. The film grossed around Rs 53 crore in India and collected Rs 97 crore worldwide. The film also won four National Awards, which increased its importance even more.

Entry in Oscars but failed in nomination: This film was sent from India for the Best Foreign Language Film in the 79th Academy Awards (Oscars). However, this film could not succeed in reaching the Oscar nomination. Despite this, 'Rang De Basanti' is still considered one of the most memorable films of Indian cinema. 'Rang De Basanti' was not just a film, but a story that awakened the spirit of patriotism in the hearts of the youth, which still has a special place in the hearts of the people.
