Elon Musk Joins Call Between Trump and Ukraine's Zelensky

Tech mogul Elon Musk recently participated in a call between US President-elect Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, following the US presidential election. The call, which took place at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate, was a moment for the two leaders to connect shortly after Trump’s victory.

The conversation, described as positive and cordial, lasted around seven minutes. Trump, who was on speakerphone, allowed Zelensky to personally thank Musk for his support in providing communication services to Ukraine through SpaceX's Starlink, which has been crucial during the ongoing conflict with Russia.

Zelensky, who had previously congratulated Trump on his 'historic landslide victory,' emphasized the importance of maintaining strong relations and increasing cooperation between the US and Ukraine. He also highlighted the need for steadfast US leadership in promoting global stability and working towards a just peace.

During the brief exchange, no specific policies were discussed, but the conversation underscored the diplomatic ties between the two countries.

Trump has consistently claimed that he could bring an end to the war in Ukraine within 24 hours and has criticized the US for sending aid to Kyiv in its fight against Russia.

The US has been a crucial military ally for Ukraine, and many Ukrainians are concerned that Trump may not provide the same level of support or could even back a peace deal that favors Russia.

On Thursday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called it "unacceptable" for European nations to offer concessions to Russia in exchange for ending the invasion, following Moscow’s demand for direct talks with the West.

Russian President Vladimir Putin praised Trump on Thursday, calling him "courageous" for his response after an assassination attempt at a rally in July, and expressed his willingness to engage in talks with the former US president.
