Elon Musk's SpaceX Starship rocket launched

The world's richest man and SpaceX owner Elon Musk has taken another historic step. On October 13, Musk's company SpaceX successfully tested the Starship rocket. This rocket launched from the southern tip of Texas, near the Mexican border at sunrise. The height of this rocket is about 400 feet i.e. 121 meters, which makes it the world's tallest and most powerful rocket.

SpaceX's successful test

This was SpaceX's fifth test and is considered to be the most adventurous and successful so far. Earlier, in the test conducted in June 2024, the rocket was successful in completing its flight without any explosion. There have been many tests of Starship before, but till now this has been the most successful launch.

Elon Musk is dreaming big through Starship. This rocket has 33 methane fuel engines, which make it the largest and most powerful rocket ever. Its power and capability make it special, due to which it can prove to be important for space missions in the future.

NASA has also recognized the potential of Starship. NASA has ordered two Starships to land astronauts on the moon later this decade. SpaceX does not intend to limit itself to the moon, but in the future this rocket will also be used to send people and goods to Mars.

Challenges of past trials

Many tests of Starship have been done before. In a test conducted on March 14, 2024, contact with Starship was lost during reentry. Due to technical difficulties, Starship was not able to return. At the same time, in another test, the test could not be successful due to the problem of stage separation.

Many features of Starship make it very special. The most important is its re-usability, that is, if the rocket fails once in flight, it can be flown again. This is the tallest rocket ever and has the capacity to carry a payload of up to 150 tonnes. Its 33 Raptor engines make it extremely powerful, and it can fly at a fast speed of 27,000 km/h.
