The United Arab Emirates is excited to host the ninth edition of the Women's T20 World Cup in 2024, featuring ten teams from around the world. In recognition of the strength and talent of women in cricket, Google has decorated its search engine logo to celebrate the participants of this prestigious tournament. The action begins today as Bangladesh takes on Scotland in the opening match at Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

The tournament will start with the ten teams divided into two groups of five. Following the group stage, the top two teams from each group will advance to the knockout rounds, culminating in the semi-finals. The winners of these matches will compete in the final for the championship title. Australia has a storied history in the Women's T20 World Cup, being one of the most dominant teams. As the defending champions, they aim to enhance their legacy by securing the trophy for the seventh time.

This year’s tournament will also feature several new teams, including Scotland, who will be making their debut at this esteemed event.

On October 3, 2024, the Google Doodle honoring the Women's T20 World Cup 2024 went live. This special logo will be displayed in 5-6 countries, including India, Bangladesh, the UAE, Australia, Scotland, and New Zealand.
