Washington: Actress Judy Greer has been cast in Rob Burnett's upcoming comedy film, In Memoriam. Burnett has written the screenplay, and production is set to begin this week in Los Angeles.

The film tells the story of a seasoned Hollywood actor, played by Marc Maron, who becomes fixated on earning a place in the Academy Awards' 'In Memoriam' montage after receiving a terminal cancer diagnosis. Greer will portray Maron's ex-wife in the film.

Nicholas Weinstock and Divya D'Souza from Invention Studios are producing the film alongside Maron, Burnett, and David Martin from Avalon.

Greer recently finished filming the Lionsgate adaptation of Stephen King’s 1979 novel The Long Walk. She also wrapped up a golf comedy series for Apple TV+ starring Owen Wilson and will appear in the family holiday comedy The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, set to release on November 8.

Throughout her career, Greer has appeared in several successful projects, including Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (2014) and its sequel, War for the Planet of the Apes (2017), as well as Jurassic World (2015) and Halloween (2018) along with its sequel Halloween Kills (2021). She also starred in Marvel's Ant-Man (2015), Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018), and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (2023).

In 2017, she made her directorial debut with the comedy-drama A Happening of Monumental Proportions. Additionally, Greer is set to join Season 2 of The Last Thing He Told Me, a sequel to the Apple series created by Josh Singer and based on the bestselling book by Laura Dave, with Reese Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter as executive producers.
