She told that she is not paid a big fee for working in the films of big stars. Taapsee also claimed that the hero himself often decides who will be the heroine in these films.

I do not do films with big stars for money

In an interview with Indian Express, Taapsee said that people believe that she works in films like Judwaa or Donkey for money, but the truth is completely different. Taapsee says, "People think that I earn a lot of money by working in these films, whereas it is not so. I actually get a good fee for the films that are known in my name, like Haseen Dilruba. But when it comes to films with big heroes, the fee is very less."

The hero himself chooses the heroine

Taapsee revealed that in most films, it is the hero who decides who his heroine will be. Taapsee says, “In some films, I get less fees because they think they are doing me a favour by taking me in the film. The thinking is that the film already has a big hero, so why do we need to focus more on the heroine? I fight against this kind of mentality every day. Now the audience has also understood that in most films, the hero chooses the heroine himself, unless the director of the film is very successful and popular.”

Do heroes choose heroines according to the trend?

Taapsee further said that in almost 75% of the films, the hero has an influence on who the heroine will be. She says, "Heroes often choose heroines who are trending at the moment, so that they can attract more attention of the audience. Some stars feel insecure about their position and in such a situation they do not want to choose an actress who will overshadow them."

This statement of Taapsee highlights many issues in the Bollywood industry. According to the actress, she has given many hit films on her own, but working with superstars does not give her the same recognition or fees as she gets in her solo films.
