Holidaymakers looked on in astonishment as a motorist encountered difficulties whilst reversing a boat into the sea on a packed bank holiday.
They observed as a vehicle was driven onto the beach at Oxwich Bay in Wales, towing a boat which it backed into the sea. But the car carried on reversing into the water as well.
One holidaymaker witnessed from the sea and said the submerged vehicle had to be hauled from the water by tractor with water "pouring" from its doors.
Observing the scene develop at Oxwich Bay on Bank Holiday Monday, August 25, she said: "We watched the car pull the boat onto the beach and it then reversed the boat into the sea. For some the car kept going, with all the onlookers questioning why it was going in so far."
She said: "They released boat and trailer and couldn't get the car to start or move.
"A trailer/tractor looking vehicle had to come and pull it from the sea, with water pouring from the doors as it went. When it was pulled to the beach the car wouldn't start so it was dragged completely off the beach.
"No one was hurt or injured, was just an unusual thing to see on bank holiday."

The incident at Oxwich Bay comes just days after a car was spotted in the sea at Amroth Beach on Thursday afternoon, August 21, reports Wales Online.
Beachgoers said it was a mystery how the car got there or why. One passer-by said: "I honestly don't know how it got there.
"There were lots of people on the beach just looking but most people were just getting on with their day, swimming just up from it, in their kayaks. It was bizarre."
