Nick Knowles put on a brave face as he stepped onto the Strictly Come Dancing ballroom floor, but eagle-eyed fans spotted a heart-wrenching detail at the end of his performance.

Paired with Luba Mushtuk, Nick Knowles had a mere 16 hours to prepare his dance for Saturday, having missed several training sessions due to a recent injury. Despite this setback, the DIY star managed to deliver a respectable American smooth foxtrot to Blur's Park Life.

Although he was able to perform without his arm in a sling, thanks to his professional partner adapting her routine to accommodate his injury, viewers noticed Nick cradling his arm while judges Motsi Mabuse, Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood and Anton Du Beke critiqued his performance.

Fans watching from home couldn't ignore that, despite maintaining a smile, Nick appeared to be in pain following his dance. "#Strictly I think Nick did well with his dance but he looked in pain with his arm at the end. Hope he's ok. Lovely choreography by Luba", one viewer tweeted.

Another exclaimed: "nick is the literal definition of smiling through the pain right now he should've definitely sat this out", while another observed: "Definitely looked like Nick was in pain there", reports the Mirror.

One fan was more critical, commenting: "Fair play to Nick he did well considering he had 16 hours but I'm not fully convinced yet! " However, this didn't prevent Nick and Luba from securing a score of 21.

The budding Strictly Come Dancing star Nick Knowles sent waves of concern through the show's viewers when he disclosed that he had sustained an injury shortly after his performance last Saturday, September 21.

The DIY SOS presenter promptly took to Instagram to inform his followers about his condition, seen with his arm in a sling, detailing how he incurred a shoulder injury while attempting to change a tyre en route to his son's birthday celebration.

This unforeseen event cast doubts over his appearance in the competition.

Nick's health status was under review, yet he remained optimistic about joining the ballroom contest, keeping his social media followers in the loop with updates, although this misfortune meant missing crucial training hours.

After resuming practice for two days, amid growing concerns, he finally announced to his fans the relieving news that he had been cleared to dance with his partner Luba this Saturday.

A segment on BBC Two's Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two showcased footage of Nick tirelessly honing his new dance routines, evidently capable of moving both arms and elegantly spinning his partner.

Speaking to the cameras, an appreciative Nick remarked: "Luba has been extraordinary. From the moment she knew I was injured she has been looking at alternative ways. She must have rebuilt this dance ten times."

Luba herself chimed in with praise: "He is looking incredibly well in hold. He has potential in ballroom! ".

Meanwhile, an insider revealed to The Sun: "Nick is over the moon that he's been given another shot at returning to the dance floor and is concentrating on his recovery. Nick is in the best hands and will be zeroed in on improving before rejoining rehearsals. He has thoroughly enjoyed the Strictly experience up until now, so knowing he's still part of the show brings him immense joy."
