Erika Kirk, wife of the late conservative activist Charlie Kirk, gave a touching speech in honor of her husband at the White House on Monday.
Kirk, alongside Trump Cabinet members and government appointees, was at the Oval Office for the swearing-in ceremony of the U.S. ambassador to India, Sergio Gor. Gor was appointed as the U.S. ambassador to India in October.
During the ceremony, Trump invited Kirk to say a few words about her late husband.

"Charlie loved you," she told Gor, referring to her late husband's friendship with Gor. "He would have been the first phone call when he found out if you were going to be taking this position."
"The way that I was able to witness the two of you work together for years and to champion and support the president was absolutely humbling to witness, and I am so proud of you, and Charlie is going to be with you every single day in spirit," Erika Kirk added. "I will be praying for you every day because I know that this is just the beginning of an incredible opportunity for you."
Charlie Kirk was assassinated during a speaking engagement at Utah Valley University in September.
Gor is a publisher and political strategist who worked closely with Charlie. Before assuming his role as the U.S. ambassador to India, he served in the Trump administration as director of the White House Presidential Personnel Office.
At Charlie's highly publicised memorial at the State Farm Arena in Glendale, Arizona, Gor described him as one of his best friends.
"Charlie led with his faith and fought with his heart. One of the things I would miss the most is receiving a text every morning from Charlie with a daily bible verse. Charlie would help set the tone of the day for so many of us. He loved Jesus Christ," Gor said at the service, held on Sept. 22. Gor added that Charlie "embodied the spirit of MAGA."
"Always fighting for America, never backing down. He dared to debate. Charlie didn't just step into the fight, he ran toward it, and he always did it with a smile," Gor added at the time.

At the ceremony on Monday, Gor described his ambassadorship as an "honor of a lifetime."
"What you have achieved in 10 months has been historic, has surpassed any other presidency," Gor told Trump.
"I fully believe what you will achieve in the next three years will never be beaten," he added.
