At least ten people have been killed and 37 injured during clashes between police and demonstrators in Nairobi, according to Kenya's National Commission on Human Rights (KNCHR).
Protesters had taken to the capital's streets to mark the 35th anniversary of Saba Saba - a famous demonstartion for multiparty democracy in 1990.
However, the protests soon turned deadly after police fired tear gas and bullets into crowds of demonstartors in an attempt to disperse them.
Looting and fires have also broken out as the violence shows no sign of abating.
