A crash on the M1 in Hertfordshire has led to delays of up to 45 minutes and five miles of congestion, said.
Two of the four lanes on the motorway northbound were closed between Junction 8 at Hemel Hempstead and Junction 9 at Redbourn. Police, the fire service, and the ambulance service are all at the scene.
All lanes of the motorway are now open, but lengthy tailbacks remain. Drivers are advised to consider finding an alterantive route if they are planning on passing through the stretch of motorway.
