Meghan Markle fired a "few digs" at the Royal Family while promoting her new Netflix show, 'With Love, Meghan' a royal expert has claimed. To promote the series, Meghan also appeared on The Circuit with Bloomberg's Emily Chang, where she spoke about the times she has tried to feel authentic.

Analysing the promotional interview, Rebecca English, royal editor at the Daily Mail, told the Palace Confidential podcast: "Her answers were well thought out and there were definitely a few digs at the Royal Family." During the interview, Meghan spoke about having to wear pantyhose [tights] during her time in the UK, perhaps during royal events or occasions.

Rebecca said: "Meghan said that having to wear these 'pantyhose' [tights] was inauthentic for her as a person. It was all tied up with the time in her life. She didn't mention the Royal Family by name, but it's quite clear what she was referring to - where she wasn't able to be as vocal as she wanted to be and was not able to use her voice properly."

The royal expert added: "Understandably, this has sparked quite a lot of debate about whether women in the Royal Family are expected to wear tights. Like anything, I think it was quite a deliberate statement on her behalf. It's another dig I just don't think she needs to make."

There were also other inconsistencies in Meghan's narrative pointed out by the royal expert. On commenting about her own style, Meghan Markle stated she likes to wear monochrome because it's the "easiest way to dress".

Rebecca pointed out: "She made a huge deal about one of the constricting things about the Royal Family being that she wasn't able to wear the colour that she normally favoured.

"So again there's so much inconsistency there that doesn't quite make sense and is a very revisionist version of what she experienced. Again, on this, it seems that recollections may vary."

In a rare sit-down interview on The Circuit with Emily Chang, the duchess gave a candid response when asked how she deals with criticism of her Netflix lifestyle show.

She said: "I think I knew who I was trying to meet, and so if you know your audience, you know your demographic-well, they love the show. And my partners love the show, and that's why we have a season two and why we have more fun coming."

In Season two, The Duchess of Sussex welcomed a new host of chefs, artists, and friends to Montecito, including Chrissy Teigen, Tan France, David Chang, and Jay Shetty.

Netflix announced Meghan would host a holiday episode of the show in December which will be a special feature of Meghan preparing for holiday festivities including crafting and decorating.
