Prince Harry's recent string of solo engagements without Meghan Markle suggest there is "something going on", according to a PR strategist.

The Duke of Sussex, 40, was present at the WellChild awards in London on Monday, marking his eighth public outing without his wife, Meghan Markle, in as many days, reports the Scottish Daily Express.

His lone endeavours also included a visit to New York, where he participated in several events including a panel at the Clinton Global Initiative as well as a guest appearance on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

However, Mark Borkowski, a PR strategist who has been closely observing Harry and Meghan, informed the Daily Telegraph that the "separation" of their work has been happening for some time and suggested Harry might be "going back to basics".

He stated: "There has been a separation [of their work] for a while. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to think there's something going on. She has been doing the jam thing, the Martha Stewart play. He seems to be going back to basics."

Mark, who claimed the "star power" they believed they would have together "didn't work" as they had anticipated, further added: "They had to change the narrative.

"They need a venture that deflects from the failures. The charity aspect impresses upon everybody that he [Harry] does have value beyond the controversial stuff.

"It has the effect of separating them from the bad press and the failed content ideas. The punters still have time for Harry."

A source spoke to the Express in September, asserting that Harry's individual tours are a strategic move to tap into his widespread popularity among royal fans globally.

They said it became "very quickly" apparent that the Duke of Sussex commands a "considerable fanbase" and possibly even more so than Meghan, citing their royal connection as the lifeline that is "keeping them afloat".

The source added: "There's been a conscious effort to focus on that love for Harry so in the long-term that adoration can seep through the both of them."

On his recent travels, Prince Harry has jetted off to Lesotho and South Africa for another solo journey. He was photographed with Princess Senate Mohato Seeiso, King Letsie III of Lesotho's eldest child.
