A "masterpiece" horror film starring Emily Blunt hailed by fans as "supenseful and scary" has returned to Netflix in the UK. A Quiet Place (2018) is a post-apocalyptic horror film about a couple played by real-life husband and wife Blunt and John Krasinski trying to survive and protect their children from an invasion of terrifying aliens.
The creatures are blind but have a heightened sense of hearing which they use to hunt and kill humans, making day-to-day survival fraught with tension and danger. The story of the first film was dreamed up by Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, who co-wrote the screenplay with Krasinski, who also directed.

A follow-up in the main story, A Quiet Place Part II, was based on the on characters created by Beck and Woods, but with Krasinski writing and directing.
A spin-off prequel, A Quiet Place: Day One was released last year, and a third film in the main series is in the works.
One fan on Rotten Tomatoes gave the film four and a half stars, praising the unsettling atmosphere the film creates.
"Since there's hardly any dialogue in the film, it took a bit of getting used to at first, but it really gives it a distinctive feel.
"The scenes are suspenseful and scary. The aliens seem menacing. The whole thing is well acted and absolutely recommendable.
Another called it simply a "pure masterpiece!!!!"
A third said it's one of the "best horror movies out there". "It's a short one but it's very engaging and entertaining and there's barely any jumpscares.
"It makes you scared as you should be scared," they added.
A fourth said it had them "at the edge of my seat the whole time!", adding: "Def should watch if you love a good thriller!"
The film has a 15 certificate and features sustained threat, injury detail and violence - so may not be for everyone.
A Quiet Place is streaming now on Netflix.
