Send Push

Children often do not know how to express themselves in words. These do lead to some adorable moments when they wish to encourage someone and say the completely wrong things! In the same way, they do not know what to say, often when they themselves need encouragement we do not tell them what they need to hear and know. It is always suggested to express your feelings, concerns and happiness in a healthy manner with children as that is how they learn to function and learn how to deal with certain things in life. Here are some encouraging things you should say to your children!

"It's okay to feel shy."We all have our moments where we just wish to be left alone and not deal with anyone. It could be because you are having a bad day, or because you felt embarrassed. Let your child know that it's normal to feel shy sometimes. "You're brave for trying."We all must try no matter what! Children need to be encouraged to try new things even if they are intimidating. Encourage your child to step outside their comfort zone and praise them for their efforts. "I believe in you."Your belief means much more to children than you know! They wish to know that someone has their back and wants the best for them to excel in life! Let your child know that you have confidence in their abilities. "Let's practice together."You cannot always expect your child to do things all on their own and do it the best! You must be there to guide them and tell them practice makes perfect! Help your child practice social skills in a safe and supportive environment. "It's okay to say no."The power of no is something every child should know. They need to learn that their autonomy should be respected no matter what age! If they say no to a hug or a kiss, respect that! Teach your child that it's okay to decline invitations if they're not feeling up to it. "You're amazing just the way you are."There are many ways or people who will make you feel less than others, whether it is their looks, their skills or their abilities! You must tell your child that they are their own person, different from everyone and that is ok! Remind your child of their unique qualities and strengths. "I'm here for you."Every now and then, we all feel as if we are alone in the world and there is no one out there who understands our feelings. Children also need assurance about these things every now and then. Let your child know that you're always there to support them. "Let's talk about it."Children do not know how to communicate their feelings and thoughts, they can lah out and hit but instead of getting angry, you should tell them to express their feelings in words! Encourage your child to open up about their feelings and experiences. "You can do this."Encouragement is something we all need at all times, whether it is to do a performance, an exam or just to get through the day! Remind your child of their capabilities and encourage them to try new things.
