Rohit Sharma Three Test Wins Away From Breaking THIS World Test Championship Record Of Virat Kohli

India skipper Rohit Sharma can go past former India captain Virat Kohli's record in the World Test Championship with three victories in the upcoming three-match series against New Zealand. Being played at home and given India's Test record, Rohit is in a great position to surpass his predecessor's record in the upcoming series. Rohit Sharma impressed as captain during the Test series against Bangladesh last month but couldn't make an impact with the bat. He is now three Test victories away from becoming the most successful Indian captain in the World Test Championship, going past Kohli. The three-match Test series will begin on October 16 in Bengaluru, one of Kohli's favourite venues. Notably, Rohit has played just one Test at the venue, in March 2022 against Sri Lanka. Kohli led India in 22 Tests during his tenure as skipper after the World Test Championship was introduced out of which the team won 14 and lost seven, while one game ended in a draw. He ended his captaincy stint with a respectable win percentage of 63.63 in the tournament. Rohit, on the other hand, has led India in 18 Tests, winning 12 and losing four, while two of those matches have ended in a draw. He has a win percentage of 66.66, better than Kohli, but three wins against New Zealand will take him to 15 wins in 21 Tests. If India whitewash New Zealand 3-0 in the series, Rohit will go past former India captain Sourav Ganguly to become the fourth-most successful Indian captain in Tests. MS Dhoni leads the list, followed by Kohli, Mohammed Azharuddin and Ganguly. The latter finished his captaincy career with 97 victories from 196 games. Rohit first led India in the World Test Championship in March 2022 against Sri Lanka in Mohali, which was Kohli's 100th Test.
