Demetrius Flenory, also known as Big Meech, the actor best known for his role in the series Black Mafia Family, has reportedly been released from prison. The entertainment news outlet The Jasmine Brand reported that Big Meech is now free after 20 years in prison. He was convicted of operating a criminal enterprise and conspiring to launder money.The rapper was convicted in the United States for operating a criminal network, starting in the 90s, which brought in close to $270 million. He was handed a 30 years prison sentence in 2008.The Detroit News had reported earlier in 2024 that the convicted rapper could leave prison in 2025, as opposed to his scheduled release year of 2028, after a federal judged reduced his sentence by three years.
