75-year-old woman sexually assaulted at home in Chennai

CHENNAI: A 75-year-old woman who was alone at her house in Red Hills was sexually assaulted by an unidentified man on Tuesday night, said police who have launched a hunt for the person.

The man, according to police, had knocked on the woman's door and asked for some water. He then forced his way inside and sexually assaulted her.

The man fled the place after the elderly woman's cries for help alerted the neighbors. A formal complaint has been registered with the Red Hills police, who are examining CCTV footage.
