Bhopal: A foetus, estimated to be around two to three months old, was allegedly found dumped in bushes just a few metres away from the Shahpura police station on Monday evening. Acting on information, Shahpura police registered a case and began investigations to trace the person responsible for discarding the foetus.
According to police, the foetus was spotted by an employee of a nearby office while leaving work. He noticed the remains in the bushes and immediately informed the police.
Investigating officers suspect that the foetus may have been discarded following an illegal abortion. The police are reviewing CCTV footage from the surrounding area, particularly from roads leading to Raghunath Nagar, to identify any suspicious activity.
Police are also gathering information from local hospitals about recently admitted pregnant women, in hopes of tracing the origins of the foetus.
Police continue to examine footage and leads, expressing hope that evidence will soon emerge to help identify the accused.
