Canacona: Canacona police swung into action on Wednesday morning and carefully checked an abandoned bag along the Manohar Parrikar bypass road, on the way to Chaudi from Galgibaga. With a series of bomb threats being reported in several parts of Goa over the last 10 days, the police were quick to take precautions.
The police said that Vishant Prabhu was heading home along the bypass from Chaudi to Mashem, when he spotted the bag lying abandoned along this route. Sensing that the situation could turn dangerous, he called Canacona police inspector Harish Raut Desai and informed him about the bag. Desai then sent a police squad and as they opened it, they found another bag in it that was full of used clothes.
After checking the bag for anything dangerous, they ascertained that some passers-by may have left the used clothes and then they disposed of it.
