Indore: Neemuch Police emerged as the top-ranking force in the entire state in a recent confidential survey conducted by the Madhya Pradesh govt across all districts to gauge public perception of police performance. This survey was reportedly spearheaded by the Director General of Police (DGP) of Madhya Pradesh, acting on the directives of chief minister Mohan Yadav. The achievement comes at a time when the state was witnessing a concerning rise in attacks on police personnel, creating a stark contrast with the positive feedback received in the survey.
The survey directly engaged with the public to gather their opinions on various aspects of police functioning. Based on this feedback, a ranking of all districts was compiled. Confidential opinions were sought from the public on 11 key parameters, ranging from the behaviour of police personnel and officers to the transparency of their work. The report was sent to all the districts at the district administration's official ID.
In the confidential survey, Neemuch Police secured a total score of 66.97, the highest across the state. This score propelled Neemuch district to the top position, surpassing all other districts. Over the past year, Neemuch Police reportedly took strict and effective action in crime control and public interest cases.
The survey results revealed that Neemuch secured the first rank, followed by Bhind in second place and Harda in third. Seoni secured the fourth position, Bhopal fifth, Jabalpur seventh, Indore thirteenth, Ujjain fourteenth, Gwalior thirty-ninth, and Shajapur fifty-first. These results clearly indicate that the police forces in smaller districts outperformed their larger counterparts.
Neemuch Police's top ranking is attributed to their proactive efforts in several key areas, including action against drug traffickers, crackdown on land mafia, raids on gambling and betting operations, and the extensive deployment of CCTV cameras across the district under 'Operation Neemuch Eye', SP Ankit Jaiswal said. The police force also reportedly demonstrated commendable performance in managing VIP visits, maintaining law and order during festivals, recovering money lost in cyber fraud, returning lost mobile phones to their rightful owners, and blocking mobile phones used in fraudulent activities.
