Jaipur: JMC-Heritage mayor Kusum Yadav, after an inspection of the crowded Purohitji ka Katla market in Walled City Wednesday, instructed officials to remove encroachments within three days. During the inspection, Yadav examined the fire-fighting system built at the market and instructed the fire department officials to check the arrangements by conducting a demo at the earliest.

"Purohitji Ka Katla is the main wholesale market of Jaipur, and the safety of traders and customers is our priority. Instructions have been given to clear encroachments that block the narrow lanes of the market. Due to high heat, the chances of accidents increase, for which we are working to streamline the fire system and how to deal with emergencies to avoid any losses," said Yadav.

After the inspection, Yadav gave strict instructions to municipal corporation officials to issue a challan if encroachments are not removed within three days.

Manoj Mudgal, chairperson for the anti-encroachment committee in JMC-, said encroachments are being removed from the Walled City as part of a campaign, and areas have been identified for it.
