PHED pushes for summer water projects

Jaipur: The Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) Tuesday instructed its officials to complete all tasks approved as part of the summer contingency plan promptly. Additional chief secretary PHED Bhaskar Sawant instructed officials to expedite the completion of tube wells and hand pumps approved under Budget 2024-25. Expressing deep dissatisfaction over the zero progress in the Bharatpur region regarding the approved tube well construction as part of the Budget 2024-25 announcement, Sawant said.

"Strict action will be taken against responsible engineers if the work is not completed within the stipulated time. The progress of tube well construction should be accelerated to ensure a smooth drinking water supply during the summer. Necessary actions should be taken in coordination with the energy department and district administration to operationalise tube wells that could not be started due to electricity connections," said Sawant.
